The Lagos State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has urged Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, Mr. Peter Obi, to place Nigeria’s national interest above partisan politics.
According to Valid9jablog News,In a statement issued on Monday, the party emphasized that the progress and stability of the country should not be sacrificed on the altar of political rivalry. The APC maintained that every political actor has a responsibility to contribute positively to the nation’s growth, regardless of their party affiliation.
According to the statement, “Nigeria’s interest must always come first. Politics is temporary, but the unity and prosperity of our country are permanent goals that must not be undermined by political sentiments.”
The party also referenced recent remarks by former U.S. President Donald Trump, which it said echoed the importance of national unity over political divisions. The APC noted that lessons from global democracies show that bipartisan cooperation is essential in addressing pressing national challenges.
The Lagos APC further called on Obi and other opposition figures to work with the Federal Government in finding solutions to economic and security issues, rather than engaging in constant political bickering.
“Nigeria belongs to all of us,” the statement added. “We must rise above political lines and ensure that our actions promote peace, development, and good governance.”
The party reiterated its commitment to supporting President Bola Tinubu’s administration in delivering on its promises, urging citizens to remain patient and optimistic as reforms continue to take shape.
With the political landscape still vibrant and debates ongoing, the APC stressed that collaboration among all political leaders remains key to achieving a united and prosperous Nigeria.
