NYSC Vows Zero Tolerance for Fraud in Corps Mobilization

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has reiterated its commitment to maintaining integrity in the mobilization process of Corps members, warning that any act of fraud will not be tolerated.

According to Valid9jablog News, the declaration was made by the Director-General of the scheme, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, during the 2025 Batch ‘C’ Pre-Mobilization Workshop held on Monday in Abuja.

Brigadier General Nafiu emphasized that the NYSC is determined to ensure a transparent and credible mobilization process, highlighting the importance of honesty and accountability in the selection and deployment of prospective Corps members. He urged all stakeholders, including prospective participants, to adhere strictly to the rules and regulations governing the scheme.

The NYSC, established in 1973, is a mandatory one-year service program for Nigerian graduates aimed at fostering national unity and promoting skills development among the youth. Over the years, the scheme has faced challenges related to fraudulent activities during mobilization, prompting the management to adopt stricter measures to safeguard the integrity of the process.

Brigadier General Nafiu’s statement comes amid ongoing efforts by the NYSC to modernize its operations and eliminate loopholes that could be exploited for corrupt practices. He reassured participants that the management would continue to enforce policies that guarantee fairness, transparency, and equal opportunities for all eligible graduates.

The workshop, attended by representatives from various institutions, served as a platform to prepare prospective Corps members for their upcoming service year, providing guidance on the expectations and responsibilities of the program.

With the NYSC’s renewed focus on integrity, officials hope to reinforce public confidence in the scheme and ensure that every eligible graduate has a fair chance to serve their nation.
