Residents of Ibeju-Lekki are gripped with concern following the mysterious disappearance of 45-year-old hairdresser and mother of four, Mrs. Oluwafunmilayo Adesuyi, who has been missing since September 17.
According to family members, Mrs. Adesuyi left her home in the early hours of the day, informing her children that she was heading to her salon located within the community. She, however, never returned home, and all efforts to reach her through her mobile phone have since proved unsuccessful.
Her husband, Mr. Adesuyi, described her disappearance as “deeply distressing,” appealing to the public for any useful information. “We have searched everywhere — hospitals, police stations, and even spoken to her friends and clients. Funmilayo is a devoted mother and a hardworking woman. It’s not like her to go anywhere without telling someone,” he said with visible emotion.
Neighbors and friends describe Mrs. Adesuyi as a cheerful and kind-hearted woman who had lived in the area for over a decade. “She’s well-known in the community; everyone comes to her salon. Her absence has created a void here,” one of her clients shared.
Police sources at the Ibeju-Lekki Division confirmed that the case has been reported and that investigations are ongoing. Authorities have urged anyone with credible information on her whereabouts to come forward, stressing that time is critical in cases of missing persons.
Mrs. Adesuyi’s disappearance adds to growing concerns about safety in suburban parts of Lagos, where reports of missing persons have become more frequent in recent months.
As the search continues, her family remains hopeful. “We just want her back home safely,” her eldest daughter said quietly. “We believe she’s out there, and someone knows something.”
Anyone with information is encouraged to report to the nearest police station or contact the Adesuyi family.
